Quality Laminate Flooring

You’ll find varying qualities of laminate flooring on the market. Some are better than others and will last a lifetime if installed correctly and maintained to a high degree.

Our company is very selective in the laminate flooring we supply. We prefer to use Quickstep Laminate Flooring or Parador Laminate Flooring.

Laminate Flooring Installation Process

All laminate floors are floating floors. Meaning your flooring boards click together, not fixed to your subfloor.

Manufacturers We Supply

With around 400 different ranges available of laminate flooring from manufacturers such as QuickstepParador, and Haro. Samples of which are available on request.

Edinburgh Engineered Wood Flooring Services

Types Of Engineered Wood Flooring

This type of wood flooring comes manufactured with a hardwood top layer which varies in thickness, attached to a core baseboard.

The core base is made using multi-ply or 3-ply. Sometimes HDF cores are also used but not as commonly as multi-ply.

Available as a tongue and groove board that is glued and nailed during installation. Or a click floated floor, fitted over your subfloor and not fixed.

Engineered Wood Installation Process

Engineered wood is installed by gluing or nailing the new floor to the existing wood subfloor.

Or some engineered wood floors can also be installed as floating floors. This method is the most common as it does not involve nails or floor glue. The exact installation method will depend on the specifics of your property.

The Engineered Wood Manufacturers We Supply

Around 600 ranges of engineered wood floors are available to choose from, a staggering amount that will spoil you with choice.

We source our Engineered wood flooring from manufacturers such as KahrsBoen, and Parador.

Stairs & Stair Nosing's

Fitting Wood Flooring On Your Stairs

Yes, you can install wood flooring over your stairs, but your stairs will need to be in good condition. Alternatively, you may be able to repair the stairs before fitting wood flooring.

With this in mind, we always like to view your stairs in person so we can recommend the best course of action to create a perfect finish. Older stairs may need repair work to make them suitable for wood flooring.

Stair Nosing & Finishing

Stair nosing and finishing bars color-matched to your new floor are available. These are ordered in advance once you have selected your new flooring.

Skirting, beading & Doors

Skirting Boards

When installing your new wood flooring, there is a small gap running around the perimeters of each room to allow for expansion. With this in mind, we can remove your existing skirting board and refit them once your new floor is complete. Or we can order up new skirting boards and fit something that looks new and fresh.

Perimeter Scotia Beading

In older properties and homes where the walls have plaster over brick, it is sometimes not advised to remove skirting unless you are happy to do repairs should the plaster crack.

In this case, we recommend the use of a perimeter scotia beading. It’s around 15mm thick. The beading comes in white, and you can request the beading to be color-matched to your floor.

Doors

Should your doors need cut or perhaps just planed a little to fit once your new floor is fitted then this is a service we provide.

The installers also install door threshold bars, these are usually color-matched- to your floor and come in various forms for different floor heights and scenarios.

Waste Removal & Dispose

Skip Hire

Contacts for removing all the excess waste from your home are in place, old flooring, underlays, etc. We can arrange for skips of various sizes to be delivered to your home and collected when the job is complete.

Caged Lorry Uplifts

A caged lorry uplift for removing excess waste from a job. We recommend this method with homes located around the town centers where a skip is not an option.

Council Skip Permits

If you have a private driveway, then you will not need a skip permit when hiring a skip for waste removal.
If you’re looking to place a skip on a public road, then you will need to obtain a permit. With enough time, we can arrange to have this in advance of the start date for your project.
